FirstEnergy Solutions is a national energy service provider located in Akron, Ohio. FES wanted to quickly expand into newly restructuring jurisdictions, improve customer service and reduce overall operational costs.
Multiple commodity energy service provider FirstEnergy Solutions has a proven history of product expertise and top-notch service. To compete and reduce operational costs in multiple newly restructuring jurisdictions, FES needed to have flexible and advanced systems in place to automate and manage its billing and customer care business processes.
Accelerated Market Entry
With speed in mind, FES selected Excelergy Revenue Manager™. Revenue Manager's universal XML interface converted and imported FES's existing customer data for its electricity and gas customers from several existing legacy systems into just one single system, the multi-commodity, multi-jurisdictional Excelergy Revenue Manager. This single platform delivered on the promise of accelerated market entry, minimized risk, increased operational efficiency and lower overall costs.
Recovered Lost Revenue
Excelergy's 24-hour XML-based conversion and reconciliation identified lost revenue due to significant under billings by the LDC. This awareness and automation lead to further recovery and improved collections on future revenues. FES continues to rely on Excelergy's universal XML interface to move and manage customer information each day. The number of FES customer accounts managed by Excelergy's software continues to grow rapidly, supporting further anticipated market entry in additional states.

Operational since November 1998, Excelergy's platform now manages FES's billing, customer and revenue management for gas, electricity, appliance rental and/or other product and service markets across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and Maryland.
